mud, but wet mud this time

and no pictures... solobreak made an appearance and snapped a few shots, I think ROB BAUER left his camera in the car so I dunno if there was any good documentation for the training race at wrentham last night.

But it was fun. And wet. Mostly wet, but you know when you've ridden a course in its driest state and it is powdery dust, that when wet, it will be thin turn everything brown kind of mud water. Loads of water. Whole woods section was more or less under water. Pedal through the puddles and your feet go underwater deep kind of puddles. That section wasn't so bad. It was the other side, the grass side that really offered a challenge. The lines were well worn and slippery. The sloppy sections started off being ridable down the line, but after a few laps they softened up and it almost got faster to blaze a path around them. I think last night seemed to help expand the single line that had developed around the course, it certainly cut a massive number of grooves in some spots. It was a good leg sapping wet soft grass. Not really unlike Bedford. The bike was coated with lots of muddy wet grass by the time we finished up. I did kinda of miss the run ups in the grass section. Those were fun, would have been cool to have in that slop to break up the just power power power in the grass. But the final training race was effective and I got a good Pro-tip from Solo. Hell it is always good to catch up with Solo. And to get more names to the faces out there, like Jimm last night. Nice shots that the other Geoff took of you.

Couple things: found this website for the first time via the Cozy Beehive's 911 trainer post. Gotta say that sounds pretty cool. I wonder how it would work to stick an automotive alternator on a trainer, maybe power a few appliances while getting some work done on it...

I made a change to how to wash mud from white cycling kits in the post. Specifically how much shout to use. We've made the forced transition to the 2x ultra ALL and with it the tiny little measuring cap. That's the amount of Shout used. Maybe a touch less shout than ALL. But. Had a chance to test it out last night. Hosed the skinsuit out while rinsing the bike (better than the kitchen sink) then tossed the stuff in the washer. Made the load slightly smaller as there was no dirty orange suit to wash. And presto chango... the white parts of the lycra were white again (instead of rusty mud colored). No spots no nuttin. Nice and clean.

GCDavid finally got his stuff together to write a bit about Bedford. My girls seem to have gotten to the point of almost expecting me to be a mess after a race. That or getting dirty is just wicked fun and they get it. Myette finally gets to day two. The nice thing about these guys results boy included, is they spread the race reports out. Instead of having a dozen 2000 word race reports to read on Monday, there are even a few still popping up on thursday.

Good stuff...
