A long solo ride. I might be crazy but it ultimately was effective. Yeah, writing hasn't percolated to the top of the list for the last few days. We all get to watch the races live now, rare that anyone is complaining like last year about buffering and hanging and crappy feeds. The only thing we're still missing on the pirate feeds are the live women's races usually. Maybe that's next year's jump. I did manage to get outside for a very very brief ride yesterday between feeding the girls and sunset. I just jumped on the Blue and hit my course for three laps, two close to race pace, then did a couple laps over on the one Curtis laid out, one of those as full speed. So after a few days of it being apart, I made a big circuit and picked up the used springs, strut compressors, a 17mm deep impact socket and a Makita 1/4" impact driver with a 1/2" adapter. Today with the 20 mph sustained winds gusting to close to 40 mph right exactly dead on as a head wind, coupled with the trailer made for a ride that wasn't exactly what I normally plan for a day before the race. 10 mph, 159 HR, on flat level ground (not the whole thing but there were a good handful of miles like that). Still cold.  I deal with the cold pretty well but I guess I really screwed it up today. The ride to work was great. 56 degrees and fog. No rain, not too cold.  Wore my long sleeve jersey, a sleeveless baselayer, bib shorts and knee warmers.  Regular shoes. The ride home? Well, pretty much no matter what I wore it was going to suck. 45 degrees and pouring rain.  With lots of standing water.

Very soon my bike route will be changing.  Piping for the shit plant is going to be installed under the EBBP for a good portion of the route.  Honestly the best part of the route.  The most scenic part.
