After a coupled days of rip roaring headwinds for the commute home, the day I do a hybrid... freaking would be a killer tail wind tonight.
So lunch today was a bit interesting. No leftovers (i ate everything last night). So I grabbed the second half of the whole wheat burger buns, a 1/2 tub of fresh ground peanuts from the market ($3something a pound) -ie Peanut Butter- and a thing of Nutella.
Oh
My
God
Scrumptious lunch.
So simple. So tasty Peanut Butter and Nutella sandwiches.
Funny, esp in light of K-Man's pointing out (and illustrating) a Nutella Vs Peanut Butter blog entry.
First how can you face off peanut butter and nutella? Just not possible. Together they are brilliant. Alone they stand apart. Nutella, while still full of hazelnutty goodness, falls more on the jam/jelly/sweet side of things than peanut butter. That is unless you are comparing Jiff or other crappy processed sweetened crap that is passed off as "peanut" butter. Oh yeah check out the reduced "fat" versions. Chock full of hydrolized soy protien. Oh yeah, cause that stuff is JUST so good for you.
Anyway. Spread 4 of those delicious peanut butter and nutella goodness sandwiches over an afternoon and I ain't talking about being hungry no more.
Happily answering questions and emails listening to the 20th anniversary collection from alligator records. Some DAMN fine good tunes on there. No worries about food. Maybe it was a pseudo bonk from last night that was carrying over to this morning's ride that made my legs feel like crap. Probably not. Probably the fact that i'm just slow as all mighty get out [ court lawyer voice ] I Would Like to point out exhibit A, 2008 Tour of Battenkill results. [ /court lawyer voice ].
Man, this is some good Tuneage. It has been a while since I've cranked up some Blues. Damn these folks can play!
Albert Collins
Lonnie Brooks
Johnny Winter
and the GOD of gi-tar blues...
Hound Dog Taylor
Ah heck how can you elevate one of those guys over another...
Pure brilliance captured there on digital celluloid and popped on youtube for all to enjoy.
Damn that's some goooooooooooooooood stuff.

Oh yeah, in the bathroom at the West Village Market Cafe, they had a poster for a 1964 Howlin' Wolf - Muddy Waters concert in Memphis. I could not tell if it was a repro or not (probably was) but it was still cool.
Ever since my wife picked up the two pack of big Nutella jars at the Costco, my 3-1/2 year old son has been addicted to PB&N sammiches like they were crack.
Add some sliced bananas for a flavor enhancement.
Oh, and I've been know to each one or two of those myself.
Peanut butter, Nutella, throw in some sliced banannas like Brooke said, and sprinkle a little cinnamon in there. Ohhhhhhh good. So very good.
Mmmm, I'm a big fan of the nutella/pb sandwich. Started eating them in Belgium this past winter. Great before a race. Great after a race. Strangely enough I don't eat these sandwiches back here in Ottawa - I suppose because the bread here does not live up to Belgian standards.
