But, well I'm not. I'm having a Grimbergen, contemplating the fates of the last couple weeks.
I keep reminding myself that the tubular I glued on to the rear wheel brought me a bronze medal in the 35+ Rhode Island state championships. So what if it now looks like this. It is off the rim, and i stuck the worn old Fango on (not glued yet) for travel. So what if I stayed up late thursday night gluing it on. It freaking HOOKED up in the stuff there. It was amazing riding it. Now it is dead. And no, for some reason I can't bring myself to pack the clinchers. This is nationals. Clinchers? Not me, not my fat ass bouncing off rocks and roots and sticking like glue. May have to resort to take up friends on generous offers. Such is life. Such is life.
I'll bring glue and gloves and just get this together wed when i have a minute or two. If nothing else it will work well enough to survive and have fun.
enough delaying the packing. time to put the bike in the box on the kitchen floor. Nothing like having to be at the airport before lunch to motivate packing at the last minute. Maybe i'd better just have another Grimbergen. Or maybe one of the other ones, a Sterkens White Ale.

Oh wow that tire doesn't look so good! I know you are all anti-tape but I've used Tufo's extreme glue tape when I had no time for a proper glue job, and it held like a champ. Another time I tried to use it without cleaning all the dirt from the rim first, and that didn't go so well. So if you're in a pinch, go to River Cities bikes on MLK and get some Tufo extreme tape. It'll work for Nats.
Cool, I think G-ride said he was packing tape.
I'm bringing a clincher as the spare wheel. If TK has an extra rear to spare i'll jump on riding the tubbie over this clincher, but i'd rather ride the Racing Ralph in muddy or potentially wet conditions than a worn slick Fango.
Oh and since my flight was a no go today (delayed beyond arriving) i had time to swap rear wheels.
Joy joy.
